Jimmie studied
Speech & Drama at Santa Barbara City College, graduated from the
American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City and was the Artistic
Director of Footlight Theatre in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, staging
several seasons of plays and musicals. In 1974 he moved to Chicago
where he joined the musical Grease playing the role
of Eugene and serving as dance captain in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd National
Tours. Upon returning to the Windy City, he worked at the St. Nicholas
Theatre in Teeth 'N' Smiles, at the Drury Lane Water
Tower and sang the role of George in Harry Chapin's Lies and
Legends at the Odyssey Theatre.
In 1984, Jimmie moved to Los Angeles and had good fortune in being
able to join the ranks of working actors. He has guest-starred in
over 30 television series and was twice nominated for best supporting
actor by First Americans in the Arts for his work on Diagnosis
Murder and the movie-of-the-week, Blue Rodeo.
He co-starred in the mini-series Lucky Chances, was
seen as Bes-Das in Larry McMurtry's Dead Man's Walk
and as HaHa Jones in the Truman Capote classic A Christmas
Memory. He has starred in the cult films Puppetmaster,
Ghost Town, Oblivion and Oblivion II: Backlash,
and has had memorable roles in Lethal Weapon, Pink Cadillac,
Underworld and the pirate epic Cutthroat Island.
In the interactive multimedia world, he won a 'Murphy' for best
actor for creating the role of Justus on the cd-rom, Blown
Away.
In L.A. theatre, Jimmie has been a member of First Stage since 1986,
working on numerous works in progress. He has performed the roles
of Antonio in Twelfth Night and Laertes in Hamlet
on the Half-Shell at the Pacific Shakespeare Co., and in
1996 he won a Drama-logue Award for his role as Adam in the original
play Adam and Eva Marie at Actors Art Theatre. He
is currently in another original play Boiler Room,
also at Actors Art Theatre
