Richard Kuhlman

Richard Kuhman has made his living acting in Los Angeles since 1983. He first collaborated with ShapeShifter Artistic Director Jimmie F. Skaggs in a production of Twelfth Night in West Hollywood in 1986. This summer Richard is directing the world premiere adaptation of John Steinbeck's Tortilla Flat at the Western Stage in Salinas, CA for the centennial celebration of Steinbeck's birth at the Steinbeck Festival.

Last summer, Richard wrote and directed the play The Seven Colored Flowers which was produced as part of the Season of the Western Stage, a theatre in Salinas,CA. The play which is a collection of 15 Asian Folktales from Korea, China, Japan, The Phillipines and Malaysia , all strung together with a common theme, won The Kumu Kahua Theatre Award as the winner of the Pacific/Rim Prize.

Richard most recently played Tom in the 2000 Puliter Prize winning play, Dinner With Friends, at the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati. He is currently writing a screenplay based o a 1963 murder in his hometown of Greenhills, Ohio. Richard was an instrumental catalyst in solving the case after 35 years.

Richard Kuhlman's film credits include Netherworld, The Protector, Fortunate Soul, Parenthood, Big Trouble, and Dive! among others. He has guest starred on many television episodics including Jag, The Building, Adventures in Wonderland, (as the Cheshire Cat), Invisible Man, The Norm Show, Caroline in the City, Seinfeld, Chicago Hope and more.
