is from a family
of Thespians and has followed the family passion. She still remembers
running around backstage as a child while her mother rehearsed at
the National Sundukian Theatre in Armenia. Maros Costume Design
has been critically received and awarded by the Los Angeles Times
(2001-Nominated Best Costume for Master & Margarita), the LA
Weekly (Best Costume & Best Production of 2001 for Master
& Margarita also nominated Best Costume of 1998 for
Romeo and Juliet) and Drama-Logue (Best Costume of
1995 for Medea).
Her work has appeared in
Film as well as Theatre and she has designed for Universal Studios,
Deaf West Theatre, Zoo District, University of LaVern, Occidental
College Theatre, Ardavazd Theatre Company and the LACC Theatre Academy
to name a few. Maros current productions include Cabaret
& Naughty Marietta (University of LaVern), The
Bloody Chamber (Zoo District) and a short Independent Film
Manfish which received an award at the Rome Film
Festival. She also has a full time position running the costume
shop at California State University at Northridge.
Maro is proud to contribute to this production and being the granddaughter
of a Survivor (Kristine Hagopian) she has special emotional ties.
Her husbands work documenting Survivors has made her even
more aware of the horrors of this neglected moment in history.
