a Harvard Graduate,
first studied acting and directing with Robert Chapman at the Loeb
Theater in Cambridge, Mass. She then studied under Sanford Meisner
and William Esper at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York and
with Paul Sills in Chicago. She performed regionally at theatres
in Cleveland, Seattle, Alaska, New York and Chicago. After spending
three summers acting at The Sundance Institute Playwrights
Lab in Utah, she moved to Los Angeles and, with Didi Conn, Peter
Hay and Ethan Phillips, helped form FirstStage in Hollywood where
she has been acting and directing for twenty years.
On film, she has appeared in Switch, Shocker, The Boost, Species,
Bonfire of the Vanities,
and The Earth Did Not
Swallow Him, The Facts Of Life, Zoe, and most recently Yvette
Freemans Remember. Television work includes
Norma and Marilyn, Skates, Donato and Daughter, A Different
Affair, Not My Kid, the mini-series Intruders and
Lucky Chances, the pilots of ER, The
Flash, Murphys Law, Making Out, and episodes of various
series such as Hill Street Blues, Cracker, Dharma and Greg
and ER. She was nominated for an ADA award for her
performance as Timothea in Sea Marks at the Raven
Playhouse, and for her direction of Mimis Guide
at the Fremont Center Theatre. She won a Drama-Logue for directing
Adam and Eva Marie at Actors Art Theatre.
